High-Performance AWS Caching Architecture Delivers Sub-Second Search for Leading Corporate Benefits Platform
MercTech engineered an innovative, decoupled caching solution on AWS for a major provider of corporate employee entertainment and travel benefits, addressing critical hotel search page load times exceeding 45 seconds in key markets. By leveraging technologies including ElastiCache, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Lambda, we developed a cost-effective system to cache results for common searches in high-demand markets. This strategic implementation dramatically reduced hotel search response times to under 3 seconds, with cached results retrieved in less than one second through a REST API. The significant performance gains directly improved our client’s conversion ratios, prompting discussions to extend this successful caching model to their other product offerings.
